Nanjing Normal University Suzhou Experimental School is a high- end private boarding school that includes kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and senior high school. The school is directly run and managed by Nanjing Normal University which is among the first batch of national 211-Project key universities, China’s “Double First-Class” and “World First-Class” Subject Construction universities.

Nanjing Normal University Suzhou Experimental School is located in Suzhou, a popular tourist city famous for its enriched history, culture and beautiful scenery. The school specifically lies in the High-speed Railway New Town area which is one of the strategic plates of “one core and four cities” in the central city of Suzhou. The area is also the transportation hub and key node connecting the north, south, east and west of Suzhou, and an important engine to promote the development and rise of Xiangcheng District.

The school possesses four sections, namely kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and senior high school in three campuses. It covers 134 mu of land with a construction area of nearly 118,000 square meters. The total investment of it exceeded 600 million yuan. As the first school in Xiangcheng District designed according to the standard of Two Star Green Building, it is a modern school complex operated with high efficiency and surrounded by beautiful environment. It is also a smart campus which is a collection of “enriched culture, green environment, science and technology”. At present, there are over 2200 current students and 350 faculty members.

The school has attracted a large number of outstanding teachers from all over the province with its advanced educational philosophy, excellent facilities and its pursuit of high-quality education. At present, our teaching staff includes 2 senior teachers, 9 superfine teachers at provincial level, 26 academic leaders in all subjects at municipal level, and over 60% of our teachers have won the first prize of basic teaching skills at or above the municipal level.

An academic committee has been established by our school, composed by experts and professors from universities at home and abroad. Among them, there are many academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, who have provided professional guidance to launching scientific and technological education. The academic committee is not only the feature our school, but also an important power of running the school with scientific support and characteristics, and more importantly, an essential guarantee of ensuring the influence of our school throughout the country. The academic committee utilises its expertise to guide the education and teaching, as well as improving the quality of them by faculty training, management improvement, teaching instruction, scientific research and other efficient methods.

Based on the core code “pursuing the essence of education and shaping the complete characters of our children”, and guaranteed by the modern school management system, the school builds a “small-sized class, boarding and specialised cultivation” educational model. School curriculum follows ‘life and growth’ as the main line in its design, centered on three major themes: “life and nature”, “life and society”, “life and self”. From kindergarten to high school, we gradually refine the classification of subjects taught to each grade, enrich the subject content, raise the subject education goals, and follow the principle of progressive education. Our courses cover all necessary skills students need, including life skills, adaptive training and psychological counselings, so as to ensure the children have teachers’ guidance in their studies, life and mental health, making the school a real paradise and home for students to live and learn.
